To mark the 250th anniversary of the formation of the United States of America, we are hosting a celebratory gala lunch in Central London for key stakeholders in the USA/UK relationship.
The purpose of the day is to reaffirm our commitment to the founding principles of America, while celebrating the ongoing relationship between the USA and the UK. Our fundraising ambition is to strengthen the legacy of western ideals by supporting young leaders to develop their knowledge and skill base through selected academic programs.
To mark this monumental milestone, we are hosting a celebratory lunch at the Biltmore Hotel in London on Friday 24th April, in advance of HM King Charles III’s state visit to the US.
Lunch will be served shortly after a champagne reception with opportunities to hear from our keynote speakers, learn about the incredible work being undertaken by our partners and with entertainment including live music and a live auction.
We are delighted to be supporting the work of the Entente Cordiale Day, a prestigious academic competition that pitches teams of students from some of the most prestigious institutions in the UK and France. Under the joint patronage of HM King Charles III and President Macron of France, the competition seeks to inspire future leaders using lessons from the past.
To mark the 250th anniversary of the founding of the USA, the Entente Cordiale Day are establishing a corresponding programme with leading American universities.
In collaboration with the TransAtlanticists’ Lunch for Liberty, we have agreed to support the establishment of a student prize that will be awarded to the student team who bests apply the annual theme of the competition through the lens of economic and personal liberty.
We are also delighted to partner with the Benjamin Franklin Commemorative Committee. In recognition of the United States’ 250th anniversary celebrations, the aim of the committee is to highlight the key role played by Benjamin Franklin in establishing the special relationship between Britain and America that endures to this day.
In a special initiative, the committee is offering individuals and companies the opportunity to sponsor up to 250 mulberry trees to be planted in Epping Forest and Great Windsor Park with their name recognised on a plaque in the Benjamin Franklin House in London, which is the only surviving house Franklin lived anywhere in the world.
